Legal Counsel

We are currently 500+ employees across 31 different nationalities and counting, and we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Legal Finance team in Group Legal in Copenhagen.

Today, the Legal Finance team consists of two employees, a Director and a Commercial Law Associate. The team is newly established and is responsible for managing the legal aspects of all loans, credit facilities and financial guarantees in the Better Energy Group. Our team is driven by our wish to assist and contribute to the continued growth of the Better Energy group.

In this role you will report to Jakob Voss Bjerre, Director, Head of Legal Finance.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
Together with your colleagues within the Legal Finance team, Group Legal, your primary focus will be on assisting with financing of the Better Energy Group and other related tasks. We see you have an important role in this mission.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the project responsible legal counsel on loan transactions, where you will work closely with the rest of the team, Better Energy colleagues from other fields of expertise, external lawyers from Danish and international law firms, and external partners from banks and other lenders.
• Reviewing or drafting and negotiating loan documentation.
• Assisting with relevant CPs.
• Reviewing and negotiating guarantee facilities and guarantees.
• Assisting our colleagues across professional backgrounds and jurisdictions with advice within our area of expertise, including identifying legal issues and legal solutions.

So, who are we looking for?

• A first-year attorney-at-law, a “senior” assistant attorney, or legal counsel with no less than two years of relevant experience with banking and financing from a law firm, a financial institution, or a company, where you have gained experience with loan transactions and LMA based loan documentation.
• You are experienced with working with transactions, where a sense of urgency is key.
• You possess excellent language skills in both Danish and English, enabling you to conduct negotiations and draft documentation seamlessly.
• You preferably have experience with project financing.

Additionally, we find it important that you possess the following competencies:

• Your personal and professional competencies make you a respected and trustworthy sparring partner.
• You thrive on managing multiple tasks and can prioritize the most urgent ones without losing focus.
• You have a solid understanding of commercial law, with particular emphasis on finance law and corporate law.
• You are skilled at working independently and have a commercial mindset.
