Telecom in Stavanger is looking to strengthen the team with a new Principal Telecom Engineer. With us, you'll be at the forefront of technology, performing work and estimations from concept to execution.
About the position
You'll produce and revise vital telecom documentation and drawings, including block diagrams, loop diagrams, and plot plans. Your knowledge in PA systems, emergency battery systems, and CCTV systems will be invaluable. Along with your knowledge of ICT security, network topology, and the instrument and electrical equipment used in the oil industry, you'll be a key player in our team. Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Produce work package for installation
- Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project
- Order all telecom materials (bulk/equipment) needed for offshore installation
- Knowledge of general interfaces to instrumentation/electro/automation
- Need to understand drawings from different disciplines
- Discussions with client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions
Qualifications:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in telecommunications
- Lower education in combination with long relevant experience will be considered
- Advantageous with experience within offshore related projects and studies
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as NPD, ATEX, IEC61892 and Norsok
- Knowledge of modifications on offshore installations when in operation
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems such as cables, fibers, LAN, WAN, TMS, etc.
- Proficient in both Norwegian and English

- Systematic and accurate
- High loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
- Ability to see multiple design cases
- Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for a multicultural team environment
