Would you like to be part of taking IT Operations to the next level? We are now looking for a Head of NAM IT to maintain and further develop IT Operations with the aim of becoming a best in class IT operations team.

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the centre of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. NAM is the largest asset manager in the Nordics with the vision of being a leading European Asset Manager. We want to do this by delivering returns with responsibility. We meet customer demands and guide our customers in the right direction in asset selection while ensuring prudent ESG practices. NAM has around 900 employees and more than 475 Nordic and international institutional clients.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the NAM IT. We add value by ensuring that all IT applications within Nordea Asset management are running efficiently, supporting the organisation to deliver first class products and services to our clients. The team has approximately 50 employees split into 3 sub-teams. As the Head of NAM IT, you'll play a valuable role in ensuring that we continuously improve how we run our IT Operations in terms of scale and efficiency, while keeping stability at a very high level. It is also a vital part of the role to ensure that we do prudent IT Governance and that we comply with regulations such as the new DORA regulation.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Steer and develop NAM IT and create a culture of collaboration both within the teams in NAM IT, and towards the rest of the Technology organisation.
  2. As part of the Technology management team, be involved in further developing our organisation by scoping needed changes and making tangible plans that can be executed upon.
  3. Ensure that the team excels in running the IT Operations with high stability, while ensuring that we deliver on our massive change agenda.
  4. Ensure that our applications meet the governance requirements set out by legislators and Nordea Bank.
  5. Act as a significant stakeholder towards our main supplier of IT services (Nordea Group IT), to ensure we receive the delivered services with the right quality and within the agreed timeline.

You'll join a highly skilled team that plays a vital role in ensuring that the entire organisation is supported by best in class IT operations. The function has employees in Copenhagen, Luxembourg, and Lisbon, so some traveling is expected in this role. The role can be based in Copenhagen or Luxembourg.

To do well in this role, we believe that you:

  1. Have leadership experience to set the direction and grow the team consisting of 3 sub-teams.
  2. Have experience running IT Operations with great results in terms of stability, efficiency, and the ability to further develop the department.
  3. Possess great vendor management skills and a proven ability to make the necessary compromises, ensuring NAM gets the most out of vendor relationships.
  4. Have a good understanding of IT Governance and the ability to implement it at the right level in the organisation.
  5. Are a great communicator and motivator, both spoken and written in English.

Your experience and background:

  1. Relevant Master's degree with good results.
  2. Demonstrate great leadership skills, with the ability to develop a collaborative culture and be an excellent sparring partner for the team.
  3. Ensure that the team as a whole is considered a professional unit and a natural place to go for IT services.
  4. Have 5+ years of experience leading an IT Operations unit.
  5. Knowledge of the financial industry is a merit.
  6. Knowledge of running the SimCorp Dimension or a similar size platform from a complexity point of view.
  7. Have a documented history of efficiently leading and delivering complex IT solutions supporting the business to deliver great customer experiences.
  8. Possess a structured and analytical mindset, with the ability to challenge the status quo to gain efficiencies.
