The EHS Specialist will ensure that our activities continuously comply with current legislation, environmental approvals, wastewater permits, as well as BAT and BREF standards. In collaboration with our EHS Manager, the EHS Specialist will be responsible for driving and implementing ongoing environmental improvements and handling environmental incidents at our factory while closely cooperating with the factory’s employees, managers, and occasionally external environmental experts and authorities.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Driving environmental initiatives with positive engagement and stakeholder involvement
2. Preparing environmental applications, baseline reports, emission calculations and implementing BAT/BREF reference documents/points
3. Maintaining contact with authorities
4. Ensuring structured and systematic environmental management
5. Involving all levels of the organization to provide input to environmental approval processes
6. Continuously updating knowledge of engineering and industrial environmental legislation
7. Participating in occasional environmental inspections
8. Contributing ideas and proposals for improvements to the environment, safety, and working environment

What are we looking for?

1. Technical or academic background as an engineer, marine engineer, or similar with an interest and experience in industrial environmental management – alternatively an environmental background as a biologist, environmental technician, or similar supplemented with technical experience from similar industries
2. Job-related experience of 2-5 years in a similar position in modern line production or experience from municipal case processing
3. Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO50001, and maybe ISO 45001
4. Experience with environmental approval processes and general knowledge of Danish environmental legislation within the industrial sector
5. Experience in identifying, designing, and driving environmental projects within energy, waste, emission control, and similar areas
6. Experience with project management and work in EHS management systems, preferably supplemented with auditor experience
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, data handling, and analysis
8. Fluent in Danish and English
