Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark 3Shape Full time

3Shape seeks an electronics engineer for product development and optimization
At 3Shape we aim to make the most value-adding products for the benefit of our users and their patients.
Our R&D team seeks an electronics engineer to collaborate on the development, refinement, and assessment of electronics for new and existing products within our portfolio of medical 3D scanner products.

As part of the engineering team your primary mission will be to:

  • Define, describe, and integrate or design electronics for new and existing products
  • Investigate and verify designs and redesign for higher quality, easier assembly or lower cost
  • Gain understanding behind tricky malfunctions or handle complex part replacements

Your day-to-day role will be in a project team which together create a new product generation, a product iteration, or optimize an existing product. This may require rethinking an implementation in collaboration between SW, optics, mechanics, electronics, supply chain and production to achieve the best overall solution. Ensuring quality and avoiding unintended consequences are challenging as details are crucial. Your task can span analysis, internal and external communication, design, verification, and documentation activities. Occasionally you will work unguided on your own but can rely on help from all our 50+ hardware developers. The proximity of the different teams allows every colleague to be familiar with each other and provides a friendly work environment, where we also like to have fun. We corporate closely with lifecycle and NPI teams at our factory in Szczecin, Poland and our EMS partner in Asia. 5-10 travel days are to be expected.

Your profile
Working with electronics at various levels is essential, as our systems include cables, power supplies, batteries, computer modules, electromechanics parts and custom designed high-density electronics boards. You should be adept at both design and debugging with relevant tools. Further we expect:

  • Education within Electronics Engineering
  • 2+ years' professional experience preferred
  • You can tick of expertise within most of below areas:
    • Experience with modern digital electronics
    • PCB schematic design and layout of both simple and advanced designs
    • Electronics system architecture, cabling and EMC strategy
    • Design for manufacturing/assembly/test
    • Electronics manufacturing and design for cost
    • Verification with measurement equipment and test strategies

You are capable of working unguided and collaborating effectively with your team and other departments. You communicate well, are pragmatic, and can find a good compromise when necessary. You are also willing to step outside your field of expertise when the situation requires it. Ensuring a high-quality product at the right price is your inspiration.
