Associate Professor in Radioligand Imaging and Therapy – DTU Health Tech
3 days ago
The Department of Health Technology (DTU Health Tech) is recruiting for an Associate Professor with a strong background in nuclear imaging in oncology and immuno-oncology. A track record in radioligand therapy development would be an advantage.
The candidate will join a dynamic team at DTU located at the Lyngby campus and will be responsible for leading projects in the areas of oncology and immune-oncology development and radioisotope-based therapies.
We are looking for a senior academic with research interests at the intersection of radiopharmacy, imaging, and medical application of radioligands. We offer you the opportunity to establish your career as an associate professor working in both a technical, preclinical, and a clinical setting. The position will enable you to contribute significantly to establishing stronger ties between university, hospitals, and industry, as well as building research excellence at the department within nuclear medicine.
You will work very closely with the Hevesy Laboratory, the radiopharmaceutical unit of DTU Health Tech, focusing on conducting cutting-edge research on radionuclides while producing radiopharmaceuticals and various nuclides for commercial use. The Hevesy Laboratory is GMP-compliant and approved to work with open and closed radioactive sources, including several unconventional and high-activity radionuclides that are not typically used in medical departments. We have two cyclotrons for isotope production, hot cells, clean room facilities, and a range of technical equipment. Our laboratory collaborates closely with other institutions specializing in fundamental dosimetry and with several European national laboratories to produce and use new radionuclides for therapy, diagnosis, and other social services. The role will also bridge to our section for Cell and Drug Technologies on new targets and drug delivery systems and our core facilities for animal research, the BioFacility, and our Translational Imaging Center with PET/SPECT/CT capability for small animals.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
You are expected to design and manage in vivo studies to support the preclinical evaluation of novel therapeutics and radioligand therapies (efficacy, biodistribution, PET/SPECT imaging, and MoA studies) in collaboration with cross-functional project teams (radiochemistry, clinical imaging, immuno-oncology, etc.) to advance novel imaging diagnostics and radioligand therapies to the clinic.
You must be responsible for the teaching of courses as well as supervision of pre- and postgraduate students. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:
- Experience and quality of teaching
- Research experience
- Research vision and potential
- International impact and experience
- Societal impact
- Innovativeness, including commercialization and collaboration with industry
- Leadership, collaboration, and interdisciplinary skills
Salary and Terms of Employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
Expected starting date: 1 January 2025 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
Further Information
Further information may be obtained from Jan Ardenkjær-Larsen, tel.: +45 4027 2775.
