Maersk Air Charter is part of Maersk's broader air freight services. It offers customized air freight solutions that provide flexibility and control with chartering tailoring air freight solutions to specific customer needs, including cargo size, security requirements, and delivery timelines.
We're looking for a Global Head of Air Charter to drive this business.
In this role you'll be accountable for :
- Overall Profitability: Drive the overall profitability of the Air Charter business.
- Client and Colleague Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of satisfaction among clients and colleagues.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with Maersk's legal and regulatory standards.
- Strategy Execution: Develop and execute the Air Charter strategy.
- Team Management: Oversee staffing and management of the global Air Charter team.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Global Team: Inspire and manage a diverse, high-performing team of Air Charter professionals (A team of 2-5).
- Client Understanding: Deeply understand and anticipate client air charter needs, delivering creative and effective solutions.
- Product Awareness:
- Support internal sales efforts by collaborating with Air Freight Teams, Key Client Managers, Vertical owners, and Maersk Project Logistics.
- Conduct training sessions to empower Maersk colleagues to promote Air Charters.
- Client Engagement: Drive and support client meetings to foster strong, long-lasting relationships.
- Partner Collaboration: Engage with airlines, GSAs, aircraft owners, and other third-party partners to optimize operations and cost efficiency.
- Contract Management: Ensure accurate and compliant contracting with both partners and clients in cooperation with the Legal team.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee shipment execution, traffic rights, load planning, and other operational aspects to maintain high-quality standards globally.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and enhance Air Charter service performance, ensuring global client and colleague satisfaction.
- Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategies to identify new markets, forge partnerships, and expand service offerings to increase Maersk's presence and revenue.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience: 10+ years of industry-specific experience in Air Charter, with a strong operational background.
- Pressure Handling: Capable of thriving under high pressure and tight deadlines.
- Matrix Organization: Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization.
- Customer Focus: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
- Forward thinking Leadership: Dynamic, proactive, and skilled at inspiring and empowering teams.
