The team

As a Manager based in Copenhagen, you will join CIP's Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, responsible for financial modelling, valuation framework, applied valuations, and supporting investment decisions through business case reviews with reporting to senior management.

The role

You will be responsible for handling and developing the valuation methodologies applied across CIP funds, working with corporate and regional teams to enhance your financial and valuation skills in a varied portfolio of renewable investments. As part of the final investment decision process, you will be responsible for engaging with the investment teams, providing detailed financial model assumption reviews to ensure consistent and well-documented business cases, and being accountable for delivering key inputs such as discount rate assumptions to become a trusted FP&A business partner, supporting our global investment strategy for the investments and funds managed by CIP. Furthermore, you will participate in ad hoc analyses on, e.g., power markets, hedging strategy, currency swaps, and other financial products.

Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing a small team of highly skilled and motivated employees
  2. Developing an expert understanding of complex financial models for both upcoming and existing assets
  3. Participating in various ad hoc financial analyses related to, e.g., financial hedging, benchmarking, factor analysis, mean-variance analysis, risk mitigation, etc.
  4. Advising the business on valuation issues and methodologies and maintaining CIP's valuation framework in collaboration with senior stakeholders
  5. Developing and reviewing financial models to ensure consistent implementation of best practices
  6. Participating in the FID process for new assets by conducting assumption review of underlying business cases
  7. Preparing and coordinating analysis and communication material for decision-makers at the senior management level

You

As the ideal candidate, you hold a university degree in economics, finance, or a similar field combined with several years of work experience within Financial Analysis and Valuation where you have gained solid financial modelling and valuation skills from private equity firms, top consulting firms or multinational corporates ideally with experience in the renewables sector. Furthermore, you are able to take complex financial and valuation methods and communicate these in a simple and easy-to-understand presentation for the senior management of CIP.

Key qualifications include:

  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  4. Used to working in an international setting
  5. Fluent in English
