Samsøe Samsøe is looking for a passionate and experienced designer to become our new Head of Menswear. In this role, you will manage our Menswear Design team and be the creative lead on our four annual collections.
Besides joining our team of three dedicated menswear designers, you will also work closely with the other heads of the creative departments, including Head of Womenswear, Head of Pattern Making, Head of Buying and Sourcing and Head of Accessories and Shoes.
You will also be in close contact with PR & Marketing teams.
The ideal candidate has experience with the entire creative design process from ideation to production, can relate to the Samsøe Samsøe DNA, and is eager to move the brand forward.
In this position, you will be- Responsible for the Menswear Design team and the entire design process
- Leading the Design team in creating our seasonal menswear collections.
- Deciding the creative direction and vision for the brand's menswear range, in line with our overall brand strategy.
- Conducting market research and trend analysis to ensure designs are relevant and competitive.
- Collaborating with the Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, Retail, and Marketing teams to ensure a cohesive brand message.
- Managing the design process from initial concept to final product, including sketching, fabric selection, and fitting sessions.
- Creating setups in PLM.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and innovations in menswear fashion.
- Following up on proto development and fittings.
- Presenting design concepts to senior management and stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the fashion industry.
- A strong understanding of design direction and product development.
- A strong awareness and knowledge of current and future trends.
- A proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving business objectives.
- A creative and innovative mindset, while also being able to work with clear guidelines.
- A responsible, structured, and detail-oriented way of working.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to build relationships and guide stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent skills within applications such as Adobe Illustrator, PLM (Kubix), and 3D (Clo).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
