Senior Facility Specialist – Workplace Solutions and Interior Design

For a newly established position, we are looking for a Senior Facility Specialist (VELUX Ways of Working) to join our global Real Estate & Facility Services (RE&FS) organization. At RE&FS, we provide safe, healthy, sustainable, and cost-efficient real estate and workplace solutions, enabling VELUX growth while providing a great employee experience. Based at our VELUX Head office in Hørsholm and reporting to our Senior Regional Facility Manager in Region North, Mette Ryby, you will be part of a global organization and join a large team of skilled colleagues working with a broad range of tasks relating to facility management.

Your Challenges
As a Senior Facility Specialist, you will be responsible for driving VELUX Ways of Working (WoW) – our concept for our workspace and real estate developed to support our overall strategy. In close collaboration with the business, your colleagues in the Facility Management team, and your manager, you will ensure a solid foundation for the development of sustainable, healthy, inclusive, and attractive workplaces that support and encourage collaboration. You will keep yourself updated on the requirements and needs from the business, as well as changing market trends and emerging technologies to help attract new talent and retain our employees. You will use these insights to continuously provide great employee experiences, regardless of location, in collaboration with Local Facility/Regional Managers/Project Managers.

Together with your manager, you will be responsible for the VELUX WoW policy, including optimizing and updating experiences wherever possible. Ensuring that office space and design are desirable and promote productivity, and that the business and employees have the tools and technologies needed to collaborate with their global teams. Moreover, you will develop building scenarios with and for the business, with business cases for investments and potential solutions. This includes the evaluation process for the selection of a new building or space and the evaluation process of the transformation potential of an existing building or space.

More specifically, you will:

• Be the key person at VELUX when it comes to internal advisory and knowledge concerning workspace design and strategy.
• Plan and implement change and create value from organizational change initiatives.
• Ongoingly update and work with VELUX WoW policy, guidelines, and toolbox.
• Be in daily dialogue with the business, regional managers, and local facility about VELUX WoW and the principles.
• Monitor occupancy of offices globally, conduct building analyses, and assess if we have the right locations and utilize our square footage in the best way possible.
• Design and redesign workspaces together with Local Facility/Project Managers.
• Continuously evaluate projects, solutions, and functionalities.
• Assess existing workspaces and propose future solutions.
• Implement new workspaces together with the line of business and Local Facility.

You can expect 20-30 travel days/year within Denmark and abroad, conducting building assessments and having meetings around the business.

Your Qualifications
You probably hold a degree in architecture or interior design, and you bring 4-5 years of experience in workplace design and real estate for investments and solutions. You are characterized by your ability to work both creatively and analytically when developing inspiring, forward-looking, sustainable, and holistic solutions that are also realistic to achieve and financially viable. You are good at planning and implementing change and creating value from organizational change initiatives. You have a knack for thinking in creative and relevant spaces that work both practically and mentally. You have proficiency in Adobe CC, CAD, and MS Excel.

On a more personal level, you are a proficient communicator with a natural ability to build fruitful working relationships, which enables you to work across the organization and enhance cross-functional collaboration. You enjoy and have experience working closely with external stakeholders, e.g., various suppliers. You will collaborate with many colleagues across our global organization, so it is important that you know how to manage your stakeholders and balance their interests. You have a service-minded attitude. You work in a structured and organized manner and are able to plan and timely deliver on your deliverables. You are self-driven and approach new tasks with a positive mindset and a focus on possibilities rather than limitations. You speak and write English at a professional level.
