The department conducts research and teaching within economics and business economics covering fields such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, econometrics, business intelligence and operations research.

Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to the research, teaching and general academic environment of the department and to promote the overall strategy of the department and Aarhus BSS. Responsibilities include:

  1. Teaching and supervising students at Bachelor's, Master's and PhD level.
  2. Carrying out research of the highest international standards.
  3. Attracting external research funding.
  4. Developing corporate business relations.
  5. Contributing to knowledge exchange and dissemination of research results.

Non-Danish applicants are expected to learn Danish within the first few years of employment.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Full Professorship, the applicant must take on a leadership role in research collaboration, teaching development and administrative duties. The applicant must conduct original research within the fields of economic and business economics in broad terms and must be able to demonstrate significant contributions to developments in the field. Specific qualifications include:

  1. A well-documented international research profile with emphasis on publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
  2. Teaching and research experience for a number of years in a tenured position as associate professor (or similar).
  3. A significant body of publications in terms of quantity and quality.
  4. Experience with research leadership and supervision of PhD students.
  5. Ability to attract external research funding.
Didactical/Pedagogical/Teaching Competencies

The applicant should have substantial teaching experience at several levels, with quality documented by positive evaluations or awards. A teaching portfolio should be submitted with the application.
