Embedded Linux Test Automation Engineer

Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We’re democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 40,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.
Growing as fast as we do in Veo means that every day is different, exciting, and challenging, both on the front line and in the back office.
But that’s not the most remarkable thing about us.
The coolest thing is our people. We’ve attracted some of the brightest minds in the industry. They are the reason we can create a great product and do it while enjoying ourselves.
We are aiming to build Denmark's most innovative Product Development department in VEO.
Part of that is automating and testing everything we do, to ensure the highest level of quality, insight and most robust development and production line setup. We therefore need a creative generalist that can span the entire stack from embedded Linux to cloud, and be able to tie these two ends together and ensure that we are able to test the entire stack. You will have a strong say in choice of technologies, and work on a wide variety of tools and platforms.
It is therefore preferred that you are more of a generalist, that enjoys being creative and finding the right tools for the right job. Examples could be creating a dashboard to visualize error logs, parsing boot logs from our embedded system, creating a GitHub action that compares data from battery usage tests, wiring up a test-jig with a single board computer and some shields to test certain aspects of our hardware.
Despite the playful and creative nature of the role, you should still be able to work systematically, document your work, and deliver robust solutions.
Responsible for:
- Developing automated tests for the camera hardware
- Developing automated CI/CD setups to make development, tests, and deployment more manageable for both the firmware, video processing and AI teams
- Developing assembly line tools (for our in-house assembly line) for flashing, calibration, and testing of the camera hardware
- Developing dashboards to monitor all aspects of development, build, and assembly line status
- Python
- Rust
- Linux (Yocto)
- Github
- CI / CD (e.g., Jenkins / TeamCity / Github actions)
- NixOS
- AWS (EC2, S3)
- If you don’t have experience with NixOS, experience with Ansible or Puppet would work
- Strong Linux skills (scripting, d-bus, systemd)
- Generalist with broad knowledge of the entire stack from embedded Linux to cloud
- Experience with test automation, preferably with embedded systems
- Concise and clear writing skills
- Capable of making structure and overview
- Can create robust and error-tolerant software
- Practical “maker skills” (e.g., single board computers, shields, dashboards, automation)
- Empathic and curious to understand situations to make accurate and nuanced decisions
We seek qualified people regardless of seniority, but for this position, you must have five years of practical experience developing software tools or a master's degree in a relevant area.
You will work closely with the three other developers in the CamOPS group, the Assembly line NPI manager, Embedded Software Developers, and our Optical Physicist Specialist (image calibration tooling).
At Veo, you'll be part of a thriving work environment where every day brings new excitement. Our rapid growth ensures a diverse and ever-changing atmosphere. We believe in work-life balance and providing a positive culture that allows you to thrive personally and professionally.
Our Copenhagen office mirrors our innovative technology – with an indoor ball court, rooftop terrace, and well-equipped gym. We have created a facility that supports connecting disciplines across the business, facilitates creative thinking, and gives the space to engage with colleagues, our global partners, and the entire Veo community.
Diversity and differences are valuable assets for us. We value diversity and inclusion and welcome people from all backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. And you may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Still interested? Join us at Veo and become a part of a team that delivers greatness and has a great time doing it.
We will invite for interviews continuously, so apply with LinkedIn or your resume as soon as possible.
