Associate Professorship in Digital Transformation, Organizing and STS at the IT University of Copenhagen
We hereby invite applicants who can contribute to strengthening the IT University's research and teaching in how digital technologies affect organizing and organizational transformations, for instance how AI or new data management practices engender changes in public institutions, NGOs, or private companies. The candidates need to have a background in qualitative humanities or social sciences and be proficient in sociotechnical and ethnographic approaches to the topic. The position is open to candidates from different disciplines, but especially scholars in science and technology studies (STS) and neighboring fields are welcomed. The candidate will be a member of the section Technologies in Practice, but they will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary conversations across ITU's different research sections, which includes computer science, design, and business studies.
We particularly welcome candidates who have a track record of conducting research on:
- Digital infrastructures
- Artificial intelligence in organizations and society
- Government data and computational processes
- The politics of digital transformation
- Digital transformations of work
The successful candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research and be able to deliver excellent research-based teaching on the areas mentioned above. The teaching will approximately involve a 50% teaching load and be within the BSc programme Global Business Informatics (GBI), the MSc programme Digital Innovation Management (DIM), or the professional master programme in IT Management (ILM). All courses in GBI and DIM are conducted in English. Teaching in ILM is usually conducted in Danish. We invite candidates to further familiarize themselves with the study programmes before applying.
Applicants will be evaluated based on the Competency Development Profiles for research and the Competency Development Profiles for teaching at the IT University, which outline the qualifications expected at the Associate Professor level.
The position requires academic qualifications at PhD level, and the candidate should have the ability to read/speak a Scandinavian language or the willingness to learn Danish.
In addition, candidates for the position should be able to:
- Attract external research funding
- Read/speak a Scandinavian language (or have the willingness to learn Danish)

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 160 full-time Faculty members. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact, and the commercialization of IT.

Salary and Terms of Employment
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Taxation's agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and job structure for academic staff at Universities.

- Copies of max. 5 different publications of research at a high international level in well-respected peer-reviewed venues that are relevant to the position (the publications should be numbered)
- Documentation of a) received observation and feedback on teaching, b) pedagogical experience and training courses as a teacher, c) a formal written assessment of teaching skills, and d) a teaching record within one or more of the teaching areas listed for the position
- A record of contributing to the goals of the institutions in which the candidate has worked, for example participation in committees, etc.

The applicant will be assessed according to the Appointment Order from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of 13 March 2012.
The IT University may use shortlisting in connection to the recruitment process. In case of shortlisting, the Chair of the hiring committee selects applicants for assessment in consultation with the hiring committee after the application deadline. All applicants are notified whether their application has been passed for assessment. The shortlisting of candidates for assessment is based on the criteria in the job posting.
