Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark LEGO Gruppe Full time

Job Description

Are you technically strong and capable of leading a team of software engineers?
Get your application ready, this is for you

The Gaming Technology department is responsible for delivering tooling and plugins for use in our LEGO branded gaming experiences and we are in close and constant dialog with some of the most advanced Game Engines in the market today.

As Senior Manager in Game Technology, you will lead a group of engineers working in full-featured product teams supporting our Gaming initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Be an active part of a newly established Product Team working closely with stakeholders both outside and inside The LEGO Group.
  2. Be the competency leader for a group of software engineers working on providing tooling for our Game development partners and projects.
  3. Organize and run your HR team by enacting leadership activities to foster a motivated, brave, and curious engineering capability group with a focus on craftsmanship and strong performance.
  4. Recruit engineering talent and support their continued development through mentoring and coaching.
  5. Set the technical direction within your area and ensure its adoption in your engineering teams and among relevant stakeholders.
  6. Support a "product culture" mindset by matching people and their skills to product teams.
  7. Create a structure for and secure execution of knowledge sharing and interest groups.
  8. Foster a collaborative environment for our product teams enabling them to release their potential.
  9. Ability to travel as necessary (primarily to HQ in Billund).

Requirements

  1. Significant production-level experience from a software engineering position.
  2. Experience with at least one modern, object-oriented programming language, like C#.
  3. Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working with or on agile development teams.
  4. Great communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
  5. Solid stakeholder management competencies.
  6. Understanding of security aspects of web-based solutions.
  7. Delivery-focused mindset.

Nice to have

  1. Experience working as a people or team lead in the digital space is a plus. Alternatively, with prior experience working with software product development as a product owner, tech lead, or similar, this could be the first step into a formal people leadership role.
  2. Value efficient and agile product implementation over process-heavy project execution.
  3. Experience with Unity 3D.
  4. Experience with 3D tooling.
  5. Experience working with cloud platforms.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
