About the role
We are looking to hire a skilled Senior Development Engineer & Tech Lead with solid React experience to join our UI team in our Payments Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Team Lead.

In this role you will get the chance to join our Engineering department where you will take part in continuously optimizing our client facing portal while also playing a critical role in building new solutions as well as owning and driving them to production together with the rest of the team. You will get in touch with many stakeholders across the company, such as Backend Developers, DevOps Engineers, and our business functions, while creating value by having clean and stable code of the highest standard all while delivering good user experience.

You will be using the latest technologies, such as: React, Vite, Vitest, Typescript, Playwright, and Kubernetes.

What you will be doing

  • Develop new features prioritized by the Product Owner and fix issues in collaboration with UX and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to our Unit, integration and E2E automated testing suites.
  • Ensure our code quality is best in class.
  • Investigate, estimate, and solve engineering problems.
  • Manage the technical feature backlog and estimate technical features.
  • Contribute to our common UI component library.
  • Participate as an expert advisor to stakeholders and team members when new features are to be designed.
  • Ensure we are following our Engineering principles.
  • Work together with our Backend and DevOps Engineers to architect solutions and design REST APIs.

What we are looking for
To be the ideal candidate for this position, you should have over 5 years of demonstrated experience in web application development and over 2 years in a technical leadership role. You should have an educational background in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with experience in building web applications, using various test frameworks, and delivering excellent results. Domain knowledge of the financial sector is considered an advantage.

You have solid knowledge of UI frameworks, preferably React, and you have a proven track record of working professionally with UI/UX design and accessibility. Professional experience writing TypeScript is also a must to succeed in this role. Knowledge about Scrum artifacts is seen as an advantage.

As a person, you are pro-active and quality oriented. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a structured way of working. You should be willing to take part in decision making and design discussions during development. You have a curiosity to learn and are comfortable with mentoring and guiding other team members and open to give feedback in a constructive manner. We furthermore expect you to be a dependable and knowledge-sharing team-player that cooperates well at all levels of an organization.

As Banking Circle is an international company, it’s a requirement that you are fluent in English.
