Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) Full time

If you want to excel within the field of spherical near-field antenna measurements in state-of-the-art test facilities, and thereby facilitate the needed development and well-functioning of antennas in increasingly more challenging environments, feel very welcome to apply to this interesting position at DTU Space.
Antennas belong to the key components that empower the much-needed next generation of wireless technologies within communication, sensing and energy transfer; all areas which are expected to play a pivotal role in the continuous advancement of our wireless society. To facilitate their development and secure their well-functioning and intended operation in increasingly more challenging environments, an accurate experimental characterization plays an ever-increasing role. If you want to advance the field of antenna measurements, with particular focus on near-field methods, this position is just right for you. Emphasis will be placed on ongoing and near-future experimental efforts in our DTU Electromagnetic Test Centre (DTU-ETC) which also includes the world-class DTU European Space Agency (DTU-ESA) Spherical Near-Field Antenna Test Facility for high-accuracy testing of antenna- and microwave technology.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your focus will be to strengthen our research within the area of antenna measurements, particularly in relation to near-field methods for mm-wave applications. You will support our ongoing and future activities in this field of research, through extensive collaboration with main national and international partners, including industry, agencies (e.g., ESA) and universities. You will work with colleagues at DTU Space, and particularly its Division for Electromagnetic Systems (EMS). Your primary tasks include:

  • Maintenance and development of EMS's general expertise in antenna measurements
  • Development of expertise in near-field antenna measurements at mm-wave frequencies
  • Support of ongoing antenna measurements projects and related collaborations
  • Contribution to external project applications and attract external funding
  • Dissemination of scientific results in highly reputed journals and conferences
  • Supervision of BSc and MSc projects within the field of the project

You have excellent all-round (theoretical and experimental) experience in antenna theory and general antenna measurements, as well as within general microwave technology.

You are self-driven, and have the ability to structure and prioritize the work ahead of you. You thrive in working independently but are in possession of very good communication skills that will enable you to work in teams and thus to become an integral member of the antenna measurement team at EMS.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

We offer
