The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering at Aarhus University, Denmark, has a vacancy in the Structural Dynamics and Geotechnical Engineering Section for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Offshore Structures. Preference will be given to candidates with a research focus in environmental loading and/or structural response, particularly related to offshore environments. Theoretical, numerical, experimental or combined backgrounds are welcome. Cross-disciplinary candidatures are also welcome.

Expected start date and duration of employment

This is a full-time position expected to be started on 1st August 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The applicant will be expected to create an international research profile, with the eventual goal of forming an internationally recognized research group within their domain. The applicant shall be active in attracting externally funded research.

A desired focus will be within the specific domains of structural dynamics, experimental research, signal processing, IT, and applied mathematics. Professional industrial experience is beneficial but not essential. Candidates must have at least 2 years postdoc or relevant industrial experience after obtaining their PhD. Ideally, the candidate should show a track record of attracting and managing research funding for projects within the noted research areas.

Documented teaching experience will be preferred, and it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to deliver independent lectures in both the BSc and MSc programs within the Department.
