About the Job
Anyday is looking for a Head of Engineering who can build, develop, and motivate a team of 10 software engineers based in their software development department in Thailand. The development team is a cultural mix of Danish, American, Thai, and other nationalities, with developers working across backend, web, and mobile app development. In total, Anyday employs 40 people in their office in Chiang Mai. This role involves:

  1. Building and developing a world-class engineering team in a healthy, inclusive culture.
  2. Overseeing daily operations and helping the team develop the right solutions and manage projects based on SCRUM methodology.
  3. Mapping out technical strategy and architecture and implementing it with the team.
  4. Utilizing experience with event-driven architecture and event sourcing.
  5. Setting, planning, and reviewing milestones achieved by the engineering team, while also evaluating unforeseen circumstances affecting software development and assessing the effectiveness of the chosen solutions.
  6. Ensuring observability and monitoring (Datadog, Segment).
  7. Fostering a DevOps culture and using tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform).
  8. Being a self-starter who is not afraid to work independently, roll up their sleeves, and challenge the status quo.
  9. Spotting potential and executing it without losing sight of the bigger picture and available resources.
  10. Having a strong understanding of various programming languages and frameworks (C#, .NET Core, Angular, React Native, etc.).
  11. Understanding of Auth (Permission modelling, session management, integrations with APIs like Auth0, etc.).
