BLAST - Software Engineer
BLAST is growing rapidly and we are looking to push the limits of technology even further in order to deliver the best experience for our fans all over the world - from large-scale stadium events to intimate studio experiences.
We are looking for a software engineer to help us build reliable and high-performance systems for our events. Our team focuses on developing a very wide array of systems - often related to integration with the different games we do. This involves everything from game statistics processing to real-time data visualizations (such as game HUDs, broadcast graphics or stage visuals/automations) and tools used by our production team.
There are always projects coming in, but we also encourage taking time to explore and learn new things. Our goal is to always look for new ways to use technology and constantly push the boundaries of what is possible.
Most of our systems run on-site in our studios or at our live events all over the world - some of which you will be attending to ensure successful delivery and troubleshoot any potential issues.
The team
You will be working in a small engineering team where everyone has a voice throughout the entire process - from ideation together with our product teams to what technologies and architecture we should use. There are often new projects to work on, which also means workdays will be very varied.
You will have frequent 1:1s with your manager, through which you will be able to work on your personal development and growth, by setting clear goals and getting, as well as providing, direct and actionable feedback.
Our culture is very informal where everyone is involved in planning and executing. We value the input of everyone and are not afraid of having discussions on everything from high-level ideas to what technologies we should use. We always want to improve and learn new things, and want you to always share your opinion. While we do run quickly, our main objective is that everyone enjoys being part of the team at BLAST.
We also offer
- An opportunity to help build a variety of new products
- A varied workday with a team of awesome colleagues
- Time to innovate and research technologies and learn new things
- Picking your own high-end equipment and accessories
Requirements
- Relevant degree (eg. Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Curious, quick learner and eager to master new technologies
- Experience with modern JavaScript
- Ability to work at our office in Copenhagen
- Ability to travel to and work at events
- Help build innovative solutions for our events
- Take part in planning and scoping of deliveries
- Perform setup, troubleshooting and debugging at events
- Help drive innovation across our projects as well as how we build software
- Take part in creating an engaging working environment
- Experience with TypeScript and frontend frameworks (eg. Vue, React, Angular)
- Familiarity with live broadcasting and equipment
- Experience working at live events
- Interest in esports
Benefits
- Competitive salary package
- Enhanced parental leave
- Pension and Health Insurance
- Awesome new office in the centre of Copenhagen
- Team building and social events
- Lunch, snacks and sodas
- Company trips (2024 we all went to Barcelona and had a BLAST)
