DTU Electro invites applications for a 2-year post-doc position on “Coding for QKD Information Reconciliation”. The post-doc project is funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark project CyberQ, on CV QKD, incl. Squeezed light and (M)DI systems. The focus is on using error-correcting coding for novel QKD systems.
DTU Electro is hiring a post-doc within Coding for QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) Information Reconciliation for a duration of 2-years.

We are seeking a candidate for the project CyberQ, conducting research on coding for CV QKD. This includes Information Reconciliation for novel QKD systems based on Squeezed light and (M)DI systems. Your main task will be on Coding for Information Reconciliation based on Error-Correcting Coding techniques for these novel QKD systems. The post-doc project is part of CyberQ funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark. Quantum technology promises the security required in future communication systems.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be advancing techniques on Coding for Information Reconciliation for novel QKD systems ranging from Squeezed light to (M)DI systems. Your primary tasks will involve:

  • High-speed and high efficiency information reconciliation for QKD
  • Coding of novel information reconciliation for Squeezed light QKD
  • Optimizing the efficiency of information reconciliation based on error-correcting codes
  • Collaborate with quantum experts on QKD systems
  • Participate in field-trials of novel QKD systems

You have a strong background in Error-Correcting Coding and Forward Error-Correcting Codes, preferably coding for information reconciliation in QKD.

You will develop information reconciliation based on error-correcting coding with >95% efficiency for (M)DI-QKD and codes that are optimized for Squeezed light QKD for high-speed high throughput as well as long-distance and noise tolerant systems.

The position will be hosted by the Coding group of the Communication Technology Section at DTU Electro – Department of Electrical and Photonics Engineering. The research work will be conducted in close collaboration with partners of the CyberQ project.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
