Senior Data Privacy & Compliance Associate

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a great Data Privacy & Compliance professional. We are looking for a conscientious and positive individual to join our team and assist with our Data Privacy, 3rd Party Due Diligence, and Ethics programmes. You will have 3+ years’ experience and enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working in a rapidly growing organisation.

The scope of the work with which you will be involved is diverse and interesting. You will be interacting with colleagues and third parties across the globe assisting them with both daily and strategic matters. About the team

You will be joining the Global Legal, Risk & Compliance, Sustainability and Payroll department, currently consisting of 16 employees. We are a diverse, highly skilled, international team based in Denmark, London, and New York. We have a strong focus on strategic improvements, team engagement and development, and collaboration. We are focused on supporting the business in digitalization and data-driven services and solutions, alongside the physical expansion internationally.

The role will report to the Head of Global Risk, Compliance & Safety, Selby Marshall, and is fulltime in our beautiful and central Copenhagen offices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Working with the Head of Global Risk, Compliance and Safety to develop and strengthen our Data Privacy, 3rd Party Due Diligence, and Ethics programmes
  2. Providing clear, practical, and pragmatic advice
  3. Data mapping and auditing of DPAs
  4. Reviewing due diligence on prospective third parties and transactions
  5. Maintaining data privacy and due diligence systems
  6. Collaborating with our Sustainability colleagues on shared ESG areas
  7. Updating the Data Privacy, CSR for Business Partners, and Ethics Policies
  8. Promoting Privacy by Design and a culture of good data ethics
  9. Working directly with our data privacy champions to strengthen data privacy across the business
  10. Developing and providing training to staff

Key Qualifications

  1. 3+ years’ experience with GDPR
  2. Law degree or similar
  3. Professional proficiency in English
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  5. A pragmatic and mature approach to solving challenges
  6. An ability to work with unfamiliar topics and areas of compliance in different jurisdictions
  7. A desire to learn and progress within an organisation
  8. Microsoft Office experience, specifically in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  9. Experience with OneTrust desirable, but not mandatory
