Finance Plant Controller

Overview
NOV is seeking a dynamic and proactive Finance Plant Controller to join our FP&A team. In this key role, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing team, contributing to decision-making processes with strong financial expertise and an analytical mindset. Your primary focus areas will include Capex management, cost analysis, and optimizing manufacturing processes to achieve best practices.

As a Finance Plant Controller, you will drive and execute monthly Capex management reporting and perform cost analysis on OPEX costs and manufacturing variances. You will collaborate with our global Subsea organizations in Brazil, Norway, and the UK to provide a comprehensive overview of the entire Subsea Production System (SPS) Business Unit.

This hands-on role requires someone who excels at building positive relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues at various levels within the organization. You will work independently, meet tight deadlines, and adhere to financial controls in line with NOV, SOX, and GAAP requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner for Denmark, engaging with managers in other departments to align goals and objectives with financial targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Capex management, including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Conduct monthly cost analysis and present findings to responsible managers.
  • Coordinate quarterly cost follow-up reviews, encouraging managers to take ownership and present to the Finance Team.
  • Consolidate monthly expense analysis for the global SPS business unit and collect variance explanations for SPS management.
  • Lead the annual KAL budget process and cost rate calculations for Denmark.
  • Assist in improving BI reporting to support daily business operations.
  • Continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of processes and controls.
  • Ensure SOX compliance in your responsibilities.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support the Finance team and daily business.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Accounting background (HD/Cand.Merc.)
    • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in a financial/accounting environment, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing setting.
    • Strong financial analysis, reporting, and ERP systems knowledge.
    • Proficiency in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in a SOX controls environment.
