Job scope
As a Design Engineer for Crushing Consumables, you will be part of a highly motivated and impactful team across multiple regions which ensures the successful development, implementation, and optimization of global engineering strategies with a high focus on technology-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and draft crushing consumables packages.
- Act as a technical resource in projects providing technical advice and direction during meetings and other interactions (verbal or written). Provide technical assessments and recommend solutions.
- Complete technical reports and product design documentation and other necessary technical documentation for a project by engaging with other experts and resources and by utilizing state-of-the-art engineering and analysis tools, with high quality and in a timely manner.
- Contribute to research and product development tasks such as concept development and design validation with prototypes.
- Continuously seek new innovations and ideas for the products and processes in the Flsmidth portfolio by researching and benchmarking industry solutions, disruptive technologies, and competitors.
- Operate cross-functionally with other groups as required and may necessitate quick responses and collaborations at different hours of the day to meet the local needs of the customer.
- Support and be comfortable with multiple competing parallel priorities that require technical review and comment with potential for undefined scope.
Experience requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mining, Manufacturing, Materials Science).
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience specifically with Crusher liners; manufacturing or foundry experience is an asset.
- Knowledge about wear mechanisms and failure analysis is a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools like SolidWorks (Advanced level), AutoCAD, PLM tools (Enovia, Teamcenter) and knowledge of design codes like ASTM, ASME, API, IS, AWS, ISO, etc. as well as document control experience.
- Ability to understand the economic drivers of the mine and provide support to optimize value generation.
- Ability to prepare clear communications in the form of presentations and technical reports.
- Skilled in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders, from customers to organization leaders.
- Proven ability to operate independently and in multi-discipline teams and comfortable dealing with regular competing and changing priorities.
