Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for structural design and assessment of structural integrity for new innovative blade and composites concepts
- Collaborate with a team of structural engineers and technology specialists to perform conceptual and detailed design of composite structures on a large scale
- Ability to understand and design structures in a modular based context is advantageous
- Work cross-disciplinary as a specialist and contribute to evaluating business cases for concepts
- Cooperate with experts in other engineering disciplines such as aerodynamics, structures, electrical, loads, and controls
- Assist in maintaining the tool chain for improved design and simulation of blades
- Knowledge in use of AI for structural engineering is advantageous, however, not a requirement
Qualifications
- Minimum Master's degree in mechanical/structural engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the wind industry, specifically in designing composite structures
- Good knowledge of composite structures and manufacturing methods
- Good understanding of aero-structure elasticity, plate and shell theory, cross-sectional analysis of composite beams, and general beam theory
- Previous experience as a structural designer, with a focus on composite materials, is desirable
- Programming skills, particularly in Python, are beneficial
- Experience with Finite Element Method (FEM), especially ANSYS, and knowledge of composite testing at various levels (full, component, and coupon)
