Calling all frequent travelers - KAYAK is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Cars team This is an opportunity for you to have a major impact on the way people find and book travel on KAYAK. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will be responsible for advocating for traveler needs and crafting a roadmap that delivers thoughtful and tailored experiences that people love. You understand consumer behavior, are numbers proficient, and enjoy working with people organization-wide to prioritize opportunities and projects.

This role is required to work from our Cambridge, MA office at least 3 days per week.
In this role, you will:

  1. Own the Cars product experience, user journey and roadmap across all platforms
  2. Define and prioritize user problems and needs, accounting for multiple brands, locales and languages
  3. Craft requirements that facilitate meaningful product improvements, weighing impact against business goals and technical feasibility
  4. Become an expert in the Cars space, cultivating knowledge of our partner inventory, data and accuracy complexities, booking options and how KAYAK can make it easier to find and book the right car
  5. Build and nurture strong relationships with both internal and external partners, working closely with them to understand their needs and motivations, creating alignment with common goals
  6. Measure and analyze insights from product changes, chasing impact against key metrics and the opportunities our data, user research and A/B experiment results might reveal
  7. Work with customer support and UX to collect feedback from and respond to users
  8. Monitor the competitive landscape and stay informed about both travel and e-commerce spaces, especially within Cars, and the latest capabilities across multiple platforms

Please apply if you have:

  1. Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, economics, or related degree. MBA preferred.
  2. 10+ years of proven experience in product management, with a preference for candidates with experience in Cars and/or Travel and a proven track record of growth in responsibilities.
  3. Strong leadership presence with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proven ability to articulate a team vision and translate technical concepts into broadly understood material.
  5. A consumer mentality and an e-commerce or B2C background - bonus points if you're a regular traveler as well
  6. Ability to navigate ambiguity and organizational complexities, moving seamlessly from high-level strategy to detailed problem solving.
  7. Market-driven approach with a strong understanding of best-in-class companies in e-commerce, cars, and travel.
  8. Demonstrated experience in data motivated decision-making and project management.
