Climate Risk Management Specialists –

The Climate and Energy Policy Division of DTU Management, Department of Technology, Management and Economics is seeking two new colleagues with special technical skills and experience in climate risk assessment and management to support our growing portfolio of research activities. You will carry out various project-related, technical, and administrative tasks, ranging from stakeholder communication to modelling and data management.
The job
As a specialist you will be part of a dynamic international team, supporting ongoing activities and projects within climate risk management and climate change adaptation. Ideally, we are looking for two new team members with complementary skills.
For the position no. 1 , the immediate responsibilities will include:
- Data analysis and model simulations using both externally and internally developed climate impact and (economic) risk assessment models.
- Interactions and communication with Danish and international stakeholders and project partners.
- Desk research, reviewing the Danish and international grey and scientific literature.
- Participate in international research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission.
- Support EU project management procedures, including developing work plans jointly with external project partners, periodic reporting, etc.
- Data management.
- Support funding applications.
For the position no. 2 , the immediate responsibilities will include:
- Data analysis and model simulations using both externally and internally developed climate impact and (economic) risk assessment models.
- Maintenance and implementation of new or improved methods developed in research projects into our internal modelling suite.
- Support and participation in project work with a focus on Denmark.
- Data management.
- Development of dissemination, training materials, and technical reports.
- Support funding applications.

Additionally, your CV comprises:
- MSc in economics, science, engineering or other relevant fields.
- An affinity for and hands-on experience with quantitative studies, including data management and modelling, in an interdisciplinary setting.
- Expertise with modelling frameworks/software for, e.g. flood modelling, GIS analyses.
- Experience in working with big data.
- Good project management skills.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, responsibility, team spirit and excellent collaboration skills.
- Capability of working on your own initiative when appropriate.
- Interest in communication and collaboration with stakeholders and practitioners.
- Strong oral and written skills in Danish and English.

Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or other relative associations and consider the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
The positions are full-time, with a preferred starting date on 1 April 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The positions are time-limited to 3 years.
The place of work will be DTU Lyngby Campus.
