Kongens Lyngby, Denmark COWI AS Full time

Do you want to help shape sustainable heat supply systems for the future? Can you bring your knowledge of engineering to make a real impact? Are you an experienced Site Supervisor or Construction Manager within piping systems or District Heating? If yes, then apply below and take the first step toward an exceptional career

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

We’re looking for a Site Supervisor and/or Construction Manager to join our District Heating team in Lyngby. As part of COWI’s Green Energy – Renewables and Green Fuels department, you’ll play a vital role in implementing pipeline systems that support sustainable heating solutions. You’ll work alongside the best experts in the field and gain hands-on experience in district heating for a greener future. This is your chance to take on diverse challenges, grow your skills, and contribute to shaping tomorrow's sustainable society.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading projects within the implementation of network systems when converting gas to district heating or cooling.
  • Planning and conducting inspections, site visits, and walkthroughs.
  • Managing negotiations with contractors regarding changes, claims, and finances in relation to the contracts.
  • Following up on progress in relation to design, supervision, and the executing parties.
  • Ensuring construction quality and communicating issues and decisions between partners both in writing and orally.
  • Supervising meetings and writing minutes and reports on progress, quality, risks, and finances.
  • Being our client's representative on the construction site with day-to-day management responsibilities, including coordination and management of professional supervision both internally and externally.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, customers, or site workers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. You should also be open to exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Strong experience within sustainable energy production, particularly in district heating systems and pipeline projects.
  • Good communication skills related to contract management and negotiations.
  • A curious, visionary, and proactive approach to problem-solving – especially on-site, when challenges occur, and changes must be applied at hand.
  • The opportunity to engage in other phases of district heating deployment, including planning, design, and implementation.
  • A background as a Mechanical Engineer, Technical Supervisor, or Energy Systems Engineer with experience from district heating systems, as a welder, or as a contractor within construction or infrastructure projects. Professional written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English are required.
