In MFT Energy we trade energy to make markets efficient and to facilitate the green transition. We are looking for a Trading Analyst to join our ambitious Gas trading team with experienced colleagues committed to achieving great results together.
The job as Trading Analyst
As our new Gas Trading Analyst, you will become an integral part of our dedicated team, specializing in algorithmic trading and gas market analysis. Our team is composed of diverse profiles, each contributing unique expertise across a wide range of tasks in the field of algorithmic trading, quantitative analysis and automation.
You will play a key role in developing automated trading strategies for the European gas market, while also supporting the gas trading team by developing and maintaining fundamental models and forecasts. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting data-driven and statistical analysis of the gas market to provide insights that drive our trading decisions. We will make sure to give you a proper introduction to our team, the energy markets, and our codebase.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop automated trading strategies in collaboration with other analysts and gas traders by exploring new market opportunities and quantitatively backtest and evaluate potential strategies
- Create new forecasts with machine learning and statistical methods
- Carry out quantitative analysis of gas market data
- Develop and maintain new and existing tools and fundamental models
- Offer back-up on all critical tasks and processes
Your qualifications and personal skills
- Proactive and curious mindset, with the willingness to challenge the status quo
- Quantitative background in Economics, Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or similar
- Experience with Python and standard libraries or another similar programming language.
- Experience with machine learning/econometric models and data-science fundamentals
- Strong analytic skills and an eye for detail
- The ability to work independently and structure your workload
- A positive and competitive attitude
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, as our company language is English
