The Hearing Systems Section at the Department of Health Technology (DTU Health Tech) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Copenhagen Hearing and Balance Center (CHBC) at the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) & Audiology Department at Rigshopitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark, seek a qualified candidate for a 2-year postdoc position. The joint position is within the areas of tinnitus research and hearing rehabilitation and is based both at DTU and CHBC.

Your primary focus will be to strengthen the department's expertise in tinnitus research and hearing rehabilitation. You will use neuroimaging and psychoacoustic tests to gain a better understanding of tinnitus mechanisms and explore improved tinnitus treatments. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and work with both academic and clinical partners in Denmark and internationally.

Responsibilities
You will be working as part of a team of experienced researchers and will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting clinical studies, with a particular focus on tinnitus mechanisms and interventions at Rigshospitalet's Copenhagen Hearing and Balance Centre (CHBC) in collaboration with audiologists and clinicians.
  • Co-supervising PhD & MSc students, particularly those working in electrophysiology and computational modelling.
  • Developing an online tinnitus test battery and database.
  • Stratifying tinnitus phenotypes based on hearing abilities and comorbidities.

Qualifications
You should be comfortable in both university and clinical research settings and should have some experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • Hearing evaluation and clinical diagnostic techniques.
  • Tinnitus research.
  • Clinical and technical audiology.
  • Psychoacoustic and objective measures of hearing function.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates who recently graduated with a PhD in hearing science, physiology, audiology, or another discipline related to hearing science. You need to have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work in a team. Furthermore, you should be well-organized and detail-oriented.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
