Within Grid Solutions, the Grid Systems Integration (GSI) Business Line is accountable for Product Development, Business Development, Sales, Project Execution, and Services of high voltage Alternative & Direct Current complete solutions, including Engineering, Procurement, and associated Construction (EPC).
Typical customers of GSI are worldwide Transmission, Distribution, Power Generation Utilities and Developers, as well as a wide range of Industrial customers.
Typical project values range from a couple of hundreds of thousand dollars up to the billion-dollar range. GSI Profit and Loss accountability is structured around geographical Regions, including North & South Europe (NSE), which encompasses Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Israel, and Romania. Average order intake of GSI in NSE is in the range of $1b to $2b, captured by a Commercial & Tendering Team of around 30 people.
Job Description
Role Summary / Purpose
- HVDC market is growing faster than other segments, and GSI's ambition is to grow faster than the market in this segment.
- Reporting hierarchically to the GSI NSE Commercial and Tendering Leader, the NSE HVDC Segment Leader is responsible for ensuring that the NSE Region secures a significant share of this growing HVDC market in coordination with the GSI Sales & Tendering teams, Marketing teams, and Global Account Managers.
- This role contributes to the definition of GSI NSE Region strategic positioning on the HVDC market, manages the HVDC Pipeline creation, develops Customer Intimacy with regional Key Accounts, and ensures commercial return of experience across the Region and the GSI BL.
Essential Responsibilities
Contribute to the definition of the GSI NSE Region strategic positioning on HVDC:
- Coordinate with the GSI HVDC Segment Leader and collect information and interact with market stakeholders.
- Gain a comprehensive view of the HVDC market in the NSE Region, its segmentation, volume, and trends.
- Contribute to defining a vision and strategy to maximize profitable growth for GSI NSE on the HVDC market.
- Support the translation of the validated HVDC vision and strategy into concrete commercial action plans.
Develop Customer intimacy with Key Accounts across the GSI NSE Region:
- Develop knowledge of and relationships with Key Accounts following HVDC projects.
HVDC Pipeline creation & management:
- Support the identification and management of HVDC pipeline opportunities.
- Prioritize HVDC opportunities based on winning chances, profitability, and risk profile.
HVDC Proposal Management lead – People Leader:
- Oversee all GSI Proposal Management activities related to HVDC opportunities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality proposals.
- Accountable for order intake volume and associated profit for the HVDC segment in the NSE Region.
- Ensure GSI offers are executable and competitive to meet region goals.
- Manage Region Proposal Managers and implement GSI processes.
Code of Ethics, EHS and processes:
- Comply with the Grid Solutions Sales & Tendering process and GE Code of Ethics and EHS.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Min. Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Extensive experience in commercial, sales, and/or marketing functions.
- Experience in large and complex technical B2B sales in an international environment.
- Experience in the Energy & Industry market is an advantage.
