Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Ønskeskyen Full time

As a Data Enablement Engineer in the Data Engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in building and evolving our streaming-first, self-service data platform, enabling software developers, data scientists, analysts, and product teams to efficiently address complex operational and analytical challenges. Your contributions will directly influence data-driven decision-making and product innovation across the organization.

Specifically, you will support internal teams' adoption of the platform, creating reusable patterns, documentation, and providing consultative support for complex use-cases. You should expect that the role will involve a lot of hands-on data engineering (co-engineering/peer programming) initially.

About Us

At Ønskeskyen / GoWish, we are witnessing substantial growth with our innovative digital wish list application, which is gaining popularity both in Denmark and globally.

Location

Our office is located in the vibrant district of Nordhavn, Copenhagen, Denmark, where we foster an energetic work atmosphere. Our benefits include daily lunches, comprehensive health insurance, lively social events, and much more. This position is not remote. Relocation packages are not offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initially, handle building the first set of stream/batch processing pipelines and reusable patterns to bootstrap self-service adoption.
  • Develop documentation, templates, blueprints, examples, and reference implementations for analysts and developers.
  • Conduct onboarding, training sessions, workshops, and ongoing enablement.
  • Support software developers and analysts when they face complex scenarios or edge cases.
  • Gradually shift from initial ownership to advisory/support as internal users gain maturity and autonomy.

Technical Experience

  • Experience in building and optimizing streaming/batch pipelines (transformations, aggregations, joins, enrichments).
  • Understanding of analytical data use-cases, real-time dashboards, or operational applications.
  • Exposure to SQL and analytical tools (Databricks SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, Tableau).
  • Exposure to DBT.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, user guides, tutorials.
  • Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to varied audiences (analysts, engineers, managers).

Nice-to-Have

  • Proactive, customer-centric mindset—actively identifying user needs and gaps.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate closely with internal users.
  • Experience delivering training sessions, workshops, or technical presentations.
  • Comfortable providing guidance and mentorship in complex situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Developer Advocacy roles.
  • Past experience in an enablement, consulting, or advisory position strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving adoption and maturity of self-service data platforms.
