In this role, you will be responsible for our yellow cheese products in Denmark, working together with the two Brand Managers for yellow cheese to turn ideas into products that meet the needs of our customers and consumers. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain an end-to-end perspective - from branding to planning, production and sales dynamics - in one of the largest marketing departments in Denmark.
How you will make an impact
Our Product Manager for yellow cheese will be on a 12-month growth assignment starting in June, giving you the opportunity to join our team and immerse yourself in the world of product management. We recommend starting in May to ensure a comprehensive onboarding process, setting you up for success.
You will be responsible for the entire yellow cheese product portfolio – both for our own branded products and the private label products. You will interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, working alongside both external agencies and internal colleagues across various functions, including Global Product Management, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Nutrition, Production, Logistics, Master Data, Packaging Optimization, Innovation, Marketing, Sales, Planning, and more. The Product Manager role is unique, as it requires you to bridge the gap between Marketing and other areas within Arla to transform our product concepts and business plans into products available on the shelf.
The role of Product Management includes:
- New product development, improvement of existing products and contribute with long-term product pipeline planning
- Support transferring production from one dairy to another
- Monitor our assortment to identify products that may need to be delisted due to low earnings
- Managing projects to achieve cost savings (e.g. packaging optimization and reformulation)
- Map yellow cheeses Arla offers in other markets which we might consider introducing in Denmark
- Changes to packaging design, for example adding new on-pack claims
- Engage in various category projects with brand and category owners, e.g. price analysis
- Handling of product photos, product datasheets, item number administration, samples, etc.
- Updating product and packaging according to incoming requests, e.g. due to new legislation
What will make you successful
Using your energy and drive, you plunge into all tasks with enthusiasm and a smile. You are meticulous and accurate, working in a detailed and structured manner. Your ability to set the right priorities is crucial, and you never compromise on quality or timely delivery, even when the pace is high and deadlines are looming. You thrive in a role where some tasks are “routine” and require 100% control of details while other tasks demand proactivity, creative thinking and strong project management skills. You can expect to get plenty of responsibility, along with support and collaboration from the rest of the Product Management team, as you learn your way around.
Besides this:
- Your background has given you a solid business understanding, preferably from the Food and Beverage industry
- You preferably have experience within product management, alternatively you are a new product developer looking to become more commercial
- If you are knowledgeable about cheese/food retail business in general, we would also consider your application
- English proficiency is a must, and fluent Danish would be a strong advantage
