The Head of Surveillance role is critical within Ethics & Compliance for ensuring adequate framework and controls to mitigate risks across Centrica Energy business. This leadership role involves managing teams responsible for identifying trading anomalies, market abuse, and other inappropriate activity through automated monitoring of trade, voice, and e-communication activities.
About the Role:
The role ensures the Ethics and Compliance function's frameworks and operating model are managed, maintained, and adhered to. Responsibilities include joining compliance meetings, providing transparency on surveillance activities, and supporting the Head of Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, management, and coaching to direct and matrix reports in the Surveillance team.
- Stimulate an environment for streamlined workflows and effective work practices.
- Be accountable for risk identification, escalation, and mitigation recommendations.
- Provide subject matter expert advice, prepare management reports, and coordinate data analysis for regulatory responses.
- Ensure agility in Strategic Change Management and maintain the surveillance strategy aligned with business goals.
- Manage BAU capability, surveillance framework, and trade surveillance across Centrica Energy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a surveillance function, preferably in commodities industry.
- Knowledge of key regulations including MAR, REMIT, EMIR, MIFID.
- Experience in defining and maintaining a scalable surveillance operating model, managing Executive level stakeholders, and overseeing strategic surveillance projects.
