Your new department
As our new Civil Engineer, you will be part of our EPC department which handles all the engineering activities within our Danish building program and plays an important role on the design for our international building programs. The PV Design team’s main responsibilities are to support the Project/Development department on the different project stages from Greenfield to Ready-to-Build, and later on EPC on the construction stage. We navigate between in-house design, subcontractors’ design including multi-contracting approach where sub-contractor management is a big part of the daily routines. The team consists of 7 people.
Your new role:
As a Civil Engineer, part of the PV Design Team, you will support the design of Solar Utility-Scale projects in development and construction stages focusing on Civil Works. You will coordinate and collect project information from developers and related EPC engineering disciplines. Autodesk Civil 3D or similar software, AutoCAD (+ PVcase), and Excel will be your main working tools.
Responsibilities:
Your primary focus will be on Civil Engineering Works, but you will be expected to learn and support on Electromechanical and Structural aspects. You will coordinate with other disciplines/teams like Electrical, Grid Integration, Technology Development (R+D), but especially with the Civil Engineering Team. Here are your key responsibilities:
- Design internal path of roads, turning radius, compound areas, road ancillary elements, and access points in accordance with project needs (specific traffic load, and vehicle types).
- Earth moving works, cuts & fills, 3D modeling of terrain to meet project needs attending slope analysis and geology.
- Performing preliminary site assessments.
- Validating and ensuring the right definition of constraints in coordination with developer & Project department.
- Planning and construction layouts for Utility-Scale Solar Projects.
- Analyzing structure adaptability to complete topography.
- Creating BoM on preliminary assessments and construction stage.
- Analyzing the feasibility of technology (substructure, etc.).
- Coordinating construction drawings with internal and external resources and generating typical details.
- You will be expected to learn basic electrical concepts and support on the design of PV plants layouts.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering disciplines with a solid knowledge of Civil works.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant positions.
- Strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills with layouts and construction details.
- Understanding of topographic surveys and DMT terrain models.
- Good understanding of geotechnical and soil composition.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects.
- Familiarity with GIS software like QGIS (importing and exporting of data to CAD, change of CRS, management of topographical data, etc.).
- Team player with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Background in PV design software like PVcase is a plus.
