The position

As our new Director R&D Quality Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving and setting direction for the implementation of key strategic initiatives related to Process Excellence and improvements of the Quality Management System (QMS) in Novo Nordisk, with key impact across Research & Development (R&D).
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the global strategy in R&D Quality as a member of the R&D Quality Extended Leadership Team.
  • Shaping and executing strategy and targets for R&D Quality Operations as part of the R&D Quality Operations Leadership Team.
  • Defining and executing strategic and functional responsibilities in RDQ Operational Excellence for the stakeholders across R&D where RDQ Operational Excellence is accountable for Quality Partnership and Quality Assurance (QA) support.
  • Leading and managing RDQ Operational Excellence in line with the Novo Nordisk Way, ensuring business targets are met and employees are developed to meet current and future business needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree in a natural science or related field.
  • Extensive experience within the pharmaceutical industry combined with management experience (min 5-8 years) in formal leader role (people manager).
  • Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) and solid knowledge of GxP and guidelines within pharmaceutical development.
  • Experience of LEAN and process improvement.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills across functions and regions.
  • Proven track record of delivering business results and driving change in a global environment.

About the department

RDQ Operational Excellence is a department within R&D Quality Operations, committed to the continuous improvement and simplification of the Quality Management System (QMS). Our team consists of 10 highly skilled individuals with different roles and responsibilities, specializing in enhancing GxP processes. We focus on strengthening Process Excellence and Process Management activities, overseeing Quality Management Review (QMR), and fulfilling essential roles such as Quality Partner and QA. Additionally, we manage integration activities to ensure that quality processes across the organization are efficient and effective. We collaborate closely with stakeholders across the research and development organizations.
