Vestas Global Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross-functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-2-end cost out initiatives, category strategy development, and supplier relationship management. As Specialist and lead in the Transformer commodity team, you will be globally responsible for procurement activities within the area as well as supplier account management with key suppliers. You will play a crucial role in enabling Vestas to deliver reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable solutions to our customers. Furthermore, you will be part of a global team with colleagues in Denmark, Tianjin, Porto, Brazil, and Chennai. The position is in the Electrical team. This area consists of multiple suppliers spread out over the globe with a significant 3-digit million EUR spend per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commodity team and commodity strategy.
- Supplier account management and close collaboration with our Transformer suppliers, including defining supplier account plans to set strategic direction for the various accounts.
- Develop and strengthen our partnerships to continuously increase value through improved collaboration and footprint.
- Early supplier involvement - focusing on complexity reduction, design to cost, standardization, and capacity risks.
- Stakeholder management - both internal and external.
- Engage in cross-functional projects across the organization e.g., new production introduction, modularization, localization, design-to-cost and cost out initiatives.
- Facilitate negotiations end-2-end with involvement of your key stakeholders to drive costs down with focus on what is best for Vestas, securing world-class contract management.
Qualifications
- The right candidate has a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, or alike, and holds solid work experience within strategic purchasing.
- Experience with strategic procurement or related supply chain activities.
- Experience within commodity management, including commodity strategy development.
- Comprehensive communication skills including fluency in English (both oral and in writing).
- Proven record of stakeholder management.
- We prefer SAP experience, but it is not a requirement.
