Your Role
As an Analytics Engineer, you will be at the forefront of expanding our advanced analytics capabilities within mathematical optimization, operations research, machine learning and statistics. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, develop innovative solutions, and implement algorithms that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making processes. Working alongside experts in mathematical optimization, business strategists, and software developers, you will contribute to the innovation of cutting-edge technologies that optimize one of the world's largest container vessel networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop tools in collaboration with Maersk's business to facilitate decision-making in network design and ocean product development.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, conceptualize solutions, design, test, and refine prototypes and production applications.
  • Partner with a diverse range of business experts and stakeholders to identify opportunities for creating additional value through prescriptive analytics.
  • Shape the vision for leveraging software to optimize Maersk business operations.

Who We're Looking For

  • Strong technical background with a master's or PhD degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science, focusing on mathematical optimization/operations research or AI/machine learning.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in software development, particularly in algorithms and optimization tools.
  • Track record of successfully implementing analytical tools leading to measurable improvements in operational performance and decision-making.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into mathematical and quantitative models, adhering to best software development practices.
  • Analytical mindset with a knack for solving complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with development, debugging, test, and version control tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for seamless collaboration.
  • Positive and inclusive mindset that embraces challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Experience in graph theory, database management (preferably MS SQL Server), systems programming languages such as C++, statistical and probability analysis, is a plus.
