We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Quantitative Analytics team at our office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Our Quantitative Analytics team is a small, specialised team now expanding our services to support NORDEN's logistics department with simulations of transshipment projects.

You will create simulations for a wide range of logistics projects and use actual performance data to improve the results. We work with a modern tech-stack including, but not limited to, Python, Prefect, Docker and cloud solutions from Azure.

The tasks that await you
To be more specific your responsibilities will include:

  1. Design and implement sophisticated agent-based simulations that support optimisation and decision-making across transshipment projects.
  2. Leverage actual performance data to enhance results.
  3. Continually improve existing systems and processes, recommending and implementing technical changes where needed.
  4. Work with non-technical stakeholders to derive and implement technical solutions to business challenges.
  5. Contribute to enhancing financial outcomes and profitability of operations.
  6. Actively participate in operating teams and identify real-time initiatives to deploy analytical methods where you see they would be useful.
  7. Stay up to date on the latest techniques in data science.

Your competences and core qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who is curious and wants to expand their knowledge in a global and innovative environment. You are interested in shipping, logistics, supply chain or similar areas and are motivated by optimising the same.

Further, to thrive in this position, you:

  1. Have 0-5 years of working experience.
  2. Hold a major in Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or similar.
  3. Are experienced in Python and have some familiarity with R and SQL.
  4. Have great English skills.
  5. Are eligible to work in Denmark.
  6. Have an interest in simulations and either experience building agent-based simulations or a desire to advance your skills within this field.
