In Group Non-Financial Risk (GNFR) we have the responsibility of strengthening, driving and steering our non-financial risk management practices. One of our most important success factors is to mature the risk discipline and the understanding of non-financial risks in Danske Bank. We strive to activate the benefits of learnings from non-financial risk events and risk & control assessment in order to enhance business decisions in one of the largest financial institutions in the Nordics.
GNFR is the 2nd line function with the role to set the standards, support and oversee adoption and provide supporting systems and tools for forward-looking and effective non-financial risk management.
We are organised in two dimensions: Business facing teams providing single point of contact towards the business; and Centres of Excellence teams working within our specialist areas. In this structure, we focus on cross-functional collaboration, communication, non-financial risk awareness and training for the bank.
For us, it is vital to deliver right quality to the right time with the right engagement of stakeholders, while at the same time continue to be innovative and curious.
Be a contributor to strengthen our department and support our strategy
You will be responsible for the oversight of non-financial risks within Large Corporate & Institutions (LC&I). LC&I serves the needs of our large corporate and institutional customers with wholesale banking and asset management products and services.
You will lead a team of dedicated specialists, having the oversight of main risks within the product portfolio, the underlying processes and change projects.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- Drive the non-financial risk agenda towards LC&I
- Engage with stakeholders and build strong collaborative relationships across all business lines
- Drive pro-active performance and participation in review & challenge of risk assessments
- Understand and challenge the risks associated with business processes including customer impact
- Driving the non-financial risk agenda as part of the GNFR Management Team
- Lead the GNFR LC&I team
You will be navigating in a complex organizational set-up, have close collaboration with your peers internally in GNFR and throughout the Group, in the business, other risk teams and compliance and help us strengthen our risk set-up. Additionally, it is important that you contribute to an encouraging team spirit and foster good collaboration both within the team and across Danske Bank.
Can you bring solid stakeholder management and strong senior management skills?
We are looking for someone who can bring essential understanding of leading, communicating and influencing in a complex environment and can demonstrate strong integrity and a capacity to maintain high standards.
The ability to work with many different stakeholders across the Group and across borders is an essential prerequisite for achieving good results. With your experience and impact, you understand how you can bring value by challenging your stakeholders and help them deliver high quality and a clear response.
As Head of Group Non-Financial Risk LC&I, it is important that you have solid people management skills, good understanding of e.g. wholesale banking and asset management and are knowledgeable within the risk management discipline. We imagine that you have:
- 5-10+ years' experience in a similar leadership role or a relevant role providing you with solid understanding and insights
- Experience in navigating in a complex environment and working with stakeholders at executive level
- Understanding and experience with the Nordic banking industry
- Experience in wholesale banking and asset management
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
The team is working out of the office in Høje Taastrup.
