Mission-Critical Project Lead for Innovative Space Technology

GomSpace A/S, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of nanosatellites and microsatellites, seeks an experienced Mission-Critical Project Lead to join their team.

About the Role

This challenging position involves executing and managing complex projects for international clients, comprising commercial, government bodies, and defense organizations. As a key member of GomSpace's project organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and optimizing project deliveries.

You will be part of the Programs Business Unit, responsible for estimating, planning, and delivering key objectives in close collaboration with management, project staff, products and manufacturing organization, and other stakeholders. Your expertise will be utilized to set up project teams, including system and software engineers, assembly and integration specialists, hardware, mechanical, and electrical engineers, manufacturing, and potentially other project managers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project management of high-scale technical space projects and space missions
  • Interaction, dialogue, and planning with international clients
  • Contract management, including alignment with customers
  • Ensuring timely project deliverables with agreed quality
  • Financial management, including budgeting and resource planning
  • Stakeholder management, including project status reporting
  • Leading and managing combined agile and 'classic' projects
  • Collaborating with internal touchpoints in other Business Units and geographical locations

This position is based in Aalborg, Denmark, with estimated travel activity of 15-20 days per year.

About You

To succeed in this role, you possess a strong drive and determination to invest in the team's success. You have a commitment to tasks at hand and overall company goals, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to the collaborative nature of GomSpace. Your experience includes 3-5 years of project management from a related field, along with a sound commercial understanding and educational background in systems or software engineering.

Qualifications include:

  • Educational background in engineering: systems, software, hardware, or related
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with technically complex projects
  • A combined commercial and technological understanding
  • Self-motivation, leadership, and problem-solving skills
