We are a leading economic consulting firm seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented economist to join our growing Nordic team based in Copenhagen. Our team provides expert economic advice on competition policy, economic and financial regulation, public policy and the assessment of damages in complex disputes.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in economics, with a focus on microeconomics, industrial organisation or econometrics. They should possess excellent quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

As an Economist at Compass Lexecon, you will contribute to projects in a variety of ways, working closely with senior staff to understand the issues that face the client, relating those issues to relevant economic theory, and supporting the analysis with solid and persuasive empirical evidence.

You will also have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases before the European Commission, the General Court and national competition authorities, regulators and courts.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from €65,000 to €90,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for training and professional development.

In this role, you will be able to take on a significant amount of responsibility and make a meaningful impact from day one. You will work closely with colleagues across Europe, collaborating on projects in the Nordic countries and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysing qualitative and quantitative client data to better understand how competition works in their industry
  • Reviewing economic literature and contributing to discussions about the theoretical and empirical approach
  • Conducting empirical analysis using Excel, Stata, and other data analysis software
  • Drafting reports which summarise the analyses
  • Participating in client meetings and conference calls
