Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Novo Nordisk Foundation Full time
Position Summary

Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Materials Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of next-generation quantum computing processor technologies.

About the Team: As a world-class research facility, we collaborate closely with renowned researchers at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, within the Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP). Our mission is to establish a foundry capable of manufacturing quantum processor units (QPUs) employing cutting-edge methods to meet the extreme requirements for purity and precision needed to bring quantum computing to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve wafer-scale crystal growth processes to enable large-scale production of high-quality materials.
  • Support the development of leading-edge quantum processor architectures and ensure relevant progress updates are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Implement and improve standards for systems engineering and data logging/analysis concepts to optimize process efficiency.
  • Perform tests, troubleshoot, and debug performance issues on tools and processes to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Analyze requirements against existing capabilities and estimate risks and yields for new processes to inform strategic decision-making.

Requirements: A Master or PhD degree in material science, chemical engineering, physics, or a related field is required. Ideal candidates will have +3 years' experience with materials synthesis, nanodevice fabrication, or system integration. Familiarity with UHV/epitaxial deposition techniques and basic knowledge of nanofabrication methods are highly valued.

What We Offer: Joining our team at Quantum Foundry Copenhagen offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with leading experts in the field of quantum computing. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, including generous vacation time, health insurance, a pension scheme, and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.
