Job Summary: Global Pharmaceutical Account Manager


Leading a large-scale provider of industrial and specialty chemicals & ingredients

The Team


The role is one of 10 Global Pharmaceutical Account Managers spread across the globe. The team is in a build-up phase and will be responsible for managing Brenntag's largest Pharmaceutical customers globally, as well as selected future potential accounts. The team and each member of the team are joining a commercial project management role on a complex global basis. The Challenge


Best Talent is seeking a Global Pharmaceutical Account Manager covering the Pharmaceutical business area on behalf of Brenntag. You will be responsible for sales development of chosen key customers, tailoring projects, contracts, tenders, quality agreements, etc. You will engage with your clients with the support of the local organization. External and internal relationship management is key in this role. You will interact with clients at all levels, confidently developing sales through your enthusiastic and analytical approach. You will open doors and develop the client within concept selling and business development. You have a winning mentality and are trustworthy. You understand the importance of supporting the client and the organization related to all aspects of global account management.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Engaging with assigned customers on a global level, building a detailed understanding of the customers' organization, operations, culture, capabilities, and strategy globally.
  • Creating and implementing a global strategy/plan for your accounts, incorporated and in line with Brenntag's global strategy for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Engaging the customer in global projects that cover all functions of the Brenntag business, whether commercial, operations, value-added services, quality, legal, or any others that add value to the customer relationship.
  • Coordinating and managing global projects, utilizing local expertise and knowledge in the regional structure to best present Brenntag as a global partner.
  • Engaging customers at a technical level, and where needed, involving appropriate technical experts from within Brenntag's wider pharmaceutical team.
  • Monitoring and appraising the wider pharmaceutical marketplace.

Together with a very skilled team and support functions, this allows you to provide tailored and expert advice to customers and help them meet their objectives.


Your Qualifications


With a natural commercial mindset, you are interested in building the business by understanding your client's expectations and needs. You do not just deliver what the market expects – you can open the window to the unknown and their mindset for what they do not already know. Your way of working and thinking outside of the box means that you are successful in both concept and business development for your clients. Combined with this, Brenntag is looking for a candidate with the following experiences and knowledge:



  • Education in relevant Life Science or commercial disciplines.
  • Significant experience and proven success in account management, or key account management within the Life Science sector, Food, Supplements, or similar. Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical or Chemical sectors is preferred.
  • Experience and success in significant commercial project management.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, self-motivated and innovative.
  • Able to communicate in English, both spoken and written; local language beneficial.
  • Willing to undertake significant global travel.

Through your business experience, you are knowledgeable of the Pharmaceutical industry, regulations, market needs, and application trends. This gives you the capacity to run and drive sales projects for the customers. You possess a winning personality, are self-driven with a great drive, and are used to and appreciate a dynamic environment while delivering high-quality results. You are a team player, can work cross-functionally, and see cooperation as the key to success. You understand the culture and the mechanisms within global B2B account management, which is vital for the decision-making process in the market. You are a strong relationship-builder with a high level of people understanding combined with a good understanding of commercial drivers, especially in the pharmaceutical field and/or related areas.
