Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Fluid Dynamics

This is a two-year postdoctoral research position in the field of computational fluid dynamics, focusing on analyzing the performance of porous structural parts in marine structures.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with faculty, researchers, PhD students, and MSc students to develop and use new methods for analyzing performance of porous structural parts in marine structures. The project is part of the research initiative INF4INITY, which investigates floating wind turbines with nature-inspired design of scour protection and motion damping systems.
Responsibilities:
- Set up tests in OpenFOAM
- Implement and further develop recently developed methods for free-surface and turbulence in porous media
- Include sediment transport schemes in the modeling
- Assess sand transport interaction with porous structures
- Co-supervise master projects
- Contribute to scientific publications and reports
Requirements:
- A PhD degree in Civil/Marine Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent programming capabilities in MATLAB
- Good knowledge of C++ programming
- Good understanding of numerical methods, preferably CFD
- Documented research capabilities
Benefits:
- The salary for the position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, but estimated to be around $83,000 per year, based on the Danish collective agreement with the relevant union
