About the Research Project
The research project aims to investigate the role of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in mediating interactions between marine microorganisms. The successful candidate will design and conduct experiments to study VOC production and emission by marine bacteria and phytoplankton. This will involve a combination of laboratory and field-based approaches, including cultivation, molecular analyses, and VOC measurements.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments to investigate VOC interactions between marine microorganisms
- Analyze data from various sources, including molecular and chemical analyses
- Develop and maintain laboratory protocols for culturing and analyzing microorganisms
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate results into broader research projects
Requirements
- PhD in marine microbial ecology or a related field
