Marine Biodiversity Expert

At Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU), we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Professor in Marine Biodiversity.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead research in marine biodiversity, focusing on how natural marine ecosystems are impacted by various stressors. This includes understanding the role of biodiversity for ecosystem function, stability, and resilience towards external perturbations, including human activities and climate change.
We require a track record in research leadership, including strategic development, building up an interdisciplinary research group, and attracting external research funding. The professor is also expected to contribute to university-level teaching, including PhD students and post-doc supervision, as well as engage in international advisory functions regarding marine biodiversity and ecosystem effects.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead research on community level marine biodiversity, from plankton to mammals, with a central focus on fish.
- Describe how external pressures, including fisheries and climate change, impact biodiversity and ecosystem function.
- Bridge fundamental research towards improvement of scientific advice regarding the impact of stressors on marine ecosystem dynamics.
