København Ø, Copenhagen, Denmark KU – SCIENCE – NBI, Blegdamsvej Full time

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Program (NQCP) is seeking highly motivated PhD candidates to join our Theory and Simulation (T&S) team at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.

">

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in theoretical and/or computational quantum physics to undertake research within large scale simulation of quantum systems. Our team develops the computational methods and capabilities necessary to realize hardware for practical quantum computing, and we collaborate closely with all teams at NQCP.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as transduction of quantum information, material simulations, designs of advanced quantum chips, and light-matter interactions. One of the PhD projects will include the option to be part of developing modules for a new course on Large Scale Simulations of Quantum Systems.

To be eligible for the regular PhD programme, you must have completed a degree programme equivalent to a Danish master's degree related to the subject area of the project, e.g., a degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Quantum Information or similar.

As a member of our team, you will have access to world-class research facilities and a dynamic international research environment. You will also become part of a thriving social environment with numerous social activities and events.

Our team is led by Assistant Professor Mark Kamper Svendsen, and the principal supervisor will be Associate Professor Stefano Paesani or Associate Professor Kasper Grove-Rasmussen.
