Research Opportunity at DTU

We are seeking a talented PhD scholar to join our Protein Glycoscience and Biotechnology group at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) Bioengineering. This exciting project focuses on exploring enzyme-glycan interactions, with a primary goal of developing enzymatic solutions for transforming clinically important cell surface epitopes.

About the Project

This multidisciplinary collaboration aims to address a significant global health challenge by combining wet chemistry lab work with computational methods for enzyme engineering. The project involves binding analyses using biophysical methods and crystallography, as well as collaborations with scientists from Lund University and the University of Gothenburg.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be working in an international top-notch research team, contributing to groundbreaking scientific findings. Your tasks will include exploring enzyme-glycan interactions using both experimental and computational approaches, integrating your work with other researchers, and potentially conducting secondments at partner laboratories.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An outstanding academic record with expertise in protein chemistry, biophysics, or related fields.
  • Skills in bioinformatics, programming, and experience with carbohydrate-active enzymes and/or glycobiology would be highly valuable.
  • A hard-working, motivated, and ambitious individual who can thrive in an international environment, collaborate effectively, and communicate complex ideas clearly.

Employment Terms
