We're Playdead, an independent game development studio based in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. Our mission is to create innovative and critically acclaimed games that push the boundaries of storytelling and gameplay.

As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our upcoming project, a 3rd-person science fiction adventure set in a remote corner of the universe. Your expertise in testing and quality assurance will be instrumental in helping us deliver a game that meets the highest standards of excellence.

The successful candidate will have prior professional testing experience in the games industry, with a strong understanding of grey box, black box, smoke, and regression testing methodologies. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role, as you will work closely with our internal teams to identify and prioritize bugs, and collaborate with others outside of the production team as required.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 per year, based on the current market conditions in Copenhagen, Denmark. This position is based onsite in Copenhagen, Denmark, and requires a high level of autonomy, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Actively test GAME 3 during its development, supporting our existing titles LIMBO and INSIDE
  • Create, run, and maintain test cases and test scenarios
  • Report, assess, and prioritize bugs as a member of the production team
  • Identify ways to improve our testing process and communicate process improvements with the team
  • Collaborate with others outside of the production team as required
Requirements:
  • Prior professional testing experience in the games industry
  • Knowledge of grey box, black box, smoke, and regression testing methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills (proactive and clear communication)
  • Experience with planning test releases from start to finish, as well as self-managing deadlines and time over sprints
  • Experience with defect management software
