About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Operations Management. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for establishing efficient work methods, supporting development, and guiding new users in the field of automation.

Your primary role will be that of a discipline engineer within Automation, where you will focus on field instrumentation, automation systems, safety systems, networks, fire & gas detection, and interfaces with mechanical & electrical packages, as well as supplier/vendor engagement and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the discipline engineer on multidiscipline projects, contributing your specific technical expertise to the wider project team.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers, including input to procurement and technical clarifications before and during project execution.
  • Develop technical specifications and design automation systems, including overall system topologies, interfaces towards 3rd party systems, SCADA, ESD/fail-safe systems, and Fire & Gas systems.
  • Manage life cycle information, including systematic collection of data and data associations.
  • Oversee operations management, including efficient use of engineering tools, and act as an ambassador to establish new and efficient ways of working, while also increasing the engineering tool user base and usage in general.
  • Support the development of engineering tools, including coordination across engineering disciplines, internal Ramboll support and development functions, and external software providers.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in automation, instrumentation, and control engineering. You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline and relevant professional experience in the renewables or similar industries.

You should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in English, and be able to work effectively with a diverse internal and external stakeholder group. Experience with relevant engineering tools, such as Aveva Unified Engineering, Smartplant, or COMOS, is preferred.
